Adjarian Khachapouri

Adjarian Khachapouri

This Adjarian dish is a favourite all over former Soviet states.

Ingredients:

  • Sulguni Cheese
  • Imeri Cheese
  • Eggs
  • All-Purpose Flour
  • Water
  • Active Dry Yeast
  • Butter
  • Milk
  • Sugar
  • Salt

Instructions:

  1. Make the khachapuri dough in a bowl and proof.
  2. While the khachapuri dough sits, mix the cheese in a bowl.
  3. Roll out the dough, fold it over, and add the cheese.
  4. Bake in the oven at 220℃ or 425℉ for ten minutes.
  5. Scoop out dough if you want to.
  6. Bake for another 10 minutes until sides dark and golden brown.
  7. Top with egg yolk and butter.
