Armenian Pork BBQ – Khorovats

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg of pork
  • Dry thyme
  • Red basil
  • 1 large onion
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Parsley, cilantro, green onions, fresh basil (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cut the pieces to your liking
  2. Add a handful of salt, dry thyme, red basil, black pepper, and Armenian red pepper
  3. Add one large chopped red onion
  4. Mix everything very well with gloves on
  5. Place in a closed container and refrigerate up to 24 hours
  6. Place on hot grill, away from direct fire, and grill while turning once in a while for 15 minutes or until fully cooked evenly.
  7. Place in a container wrapped and covered with Armenian Lavash bread
  8. You can garnish with greens such as parsley, cilantro, green onions, and fresh basil
  9. Serve hot
